| We get lots of questions from people who want to know more about our conferences. One of the best things you can do is talk to someone who has already experienced a Steubenville Youth Conference! Ask them what they thought and listen to what they have to say. In addition, you can always watch the promotional videos or contact us for more details! |
Q: So, what do you guys do at the Youth Conferences?
A: Good question! The conferences combine awesome talks, incredible music, praise and worship, time for prayer and fellowship, entertainment, and anointed liturgies. Basically, it’s a weekend to get rocked by God, to get serious about life in Christ and His Church, and to learn the truth of the Gospel. Click here for a typical conference weekend schedule. Times and events may vary.
Q: Who can attend the Youth Conferences?
A: Conference participants must be entering grades 9-12 in the Fall of 2008 – OR – be a 2008 High School Graduate. Adult Chaperones and Group Leaders must be at least 21 years of age. There are age appropriate topics discussed at each conference. Please respect the policies on the appropriate ages of participants.
Q: How and when can we register?
A: Each individual conference site registers participants for their conference. Please contact the conference site you wish to attend this summer for more information. Click here for a list of conference sites.
Q: How do we register for a 2008 On-Campus High School Youth Conference?
A: Complete registration details and information for the On Campus Conferences, including registration instructions, are available here.
Q: How many Participants attend each conference?
A: Regional sites vary from 1200-5000 per High School Youth weekend. On-campus conferences will have 2100 per weekend for HSY 2, 3, and 4. HSY 1 is limited to 1000 participants.
Q: I am a parent who wants to bring my teen. Do I have to have a group?
A: We consider a group to be one adult and one teen. If you would like to stay on campus it has to be a same-sex parent (mother/daughter or father/son) since campus housing is segregated. Otherwise there are hotels in the area.
Q: Can someone come alone?
A: In order to provide the best possible context for fellowship, sharing, ministry, and supervision, it is beneficial for a youth to attend the conference in a group. Therefore, the youth conferences accept registration by groups only. No individual registrations will be accepted.
Q: I have never been to a Steubenville conference before, where should I begin?
A: 1. Watch the promo video and read some of the testimonies of past participants (available on the About Us Page).
2. Check out our Youth Ministers Resource Page and download the Group Leader’s Manual for information on promotion, preparation, follow up, and more.
3. Decide which conference site you would like to attend. There are many sources of information available to help you including each conference’s individual web site and conference staff.
You can also go to the contact page of this site and directly e-mail any questions you have to the site you would like to attend.
Q: Is the conference the same at each site?
A: Yes, while the speakers differ at each site the program and the theme are the same. Each conference location adds their own local flavor to the conference experience by their environment, weather, food, etc.
Q: I have been to four or more youth conferences, now what?
A: If you have graduated high school and are still interested in a Steubenville conference weekend for spiritual renewal, check out our Young Adult Conference. Franciscan University of Steubenville also offers a variety of conferences for adults.
Q: Do you offer any events other than the summer youth conferences?
A: The Youth Outreach Office also offers a Youth Ministers Retreat and a Young Adults Conference. You can click on the name of the event you are interested in to find more information.
